ERIC MONEYPENNY
Comedian.  Actor.  Writer.  Self-biographer.

Eric Moneypenny
was unfortunate enough to be born with that last name on August 30, 1980 or 1981.  Moneypenny is a terrifically awesome comedian that has been called a cross between David Cross, David Crosby, and CNN’s Crossfire, comparisons that have been made by many loud, important people on several occasions, never.

He went to Ohio University, decided it was for nerds, and graduated early.  While in school, he performed in clubs and colleges on the comedy super circuit that is the state of Ohio.  Moneypenny also wrote and performed for Ohio University’s official TV and stage comedy shows, and was a Contributing Editor for the campus humor magazine, “The Shaft”, activities that have all visibly hampered his social development and maturity.

In 2002, while at Ohio U., Eric Moneypenny was selected as a National Semifinalist in Comedy Central’s Laugh Riots, a national stand-up competition.  At “Zanies” in Chicago, IL, he finished in seventh place out of ten comedians, beating out a juggler, an Asian woman with a farting puppet, and a live bear.

After that confidence booster he moved to Los Angeles, and has been seen performing stand-up at The Improv, The Comedy Store, The Laugh Factory, M Bar, Largo, St. Nick’s, Comedy Underground, The Ramada Inn, and his car, a 1999 Dodge Intrepid.  Moneypenny has also been selected to perform in The Improv’s 2003 Best of the New Faces showcase, and in the “Future of Comedy” showcase put on by M Bar’s world famous Tuesday night “Comedy Death Ray” show in Sept. 2004.

Eric was the Head Writer / Performer for the vastly overrated LA sketch group, “The Winchester Preparatory Sketch Academy”, which you hopefully have not heard of.  However, it did waste such an incredible amount of his time for two years that it's worth mentioning.  His group performed many original, sold-out shows at ImprovOlympic and Second City LA, and they also screamed at each other.

In July 2004, Moneypenny began delivering his unique comedic perspective in special columns for FOXSports.com, pieces that can be read three times each week, but have probably been read less than that.

This is what Eric looks like right after he  eats too much Chinese Food.

Eric Moneypenny’s comedy is comprised of one-liners, conceptual bits, and an alternative style of impressions.  Which is not nearly as terrible as it sounds.  About Eric Moneypenny, critics have exclaimed that, “he is an exciting young performer”, “an emerging young voice in alternative comedy”, and “what in the hell was that crap?”.  Also, he can offer no documented proof of two of the above quotes ever being said.

In conclusion, Eric Moneypenny cannot make balloon animals, ride a bicycle, and is almost entirely full of shit.  For way too much information about Eric Moneypenny, visit the official website at www.ericmoneypenny.com
